After graduating with a degree in Graphic Design, April worked as a freelance designer for over 10 years. She has partnered with organizations such as WCCCA, The City of Dundee, WCN, and PBS. She is currently the Communications and Engagement Specialist at A-dec.

April was introduced to the fire service in 2018 after her husband started volunteering as a firefighter. For the next 4 years, she volunteered as the station’s Social Media Manager, Photographer, and Event/Fundraising Coordinator. She joined Women In Fire in January 2022.
