Become a Mentor
Women in Fire’s goal is to create a formal mentoring program which allows our members to find support and leadership through networking with other members. Before deciding to participate in this program, we ask that you review the attached document carefully, and seriously consider if you are able to commit the time necessary to develop a successful mentoring relationship. We feel that a successful mentor program is reliant on active participation of Women in Fire members who are interested in sharing their knowledge and experience with other Women in Fire members. As much as our work in the field depends on training and skills, we recognize that the contributions of support and guidance will supplement career development. Mentoring is a commitment. Understanding the principles of the mentoring program and maintaining a professional and confidential relationship between the mentor and mentee is vital.
