The City of Casper is seeking an energetic, visionary leader eager to join a strong City management team focused on ensuring an exceptional quality of life for the community. The Fire Chief reports directly to the City Manager and is responsible for directing, managing, and overseeing the activities and operations of the Casper Fire-EMS Department.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in fire science, public administration, or a closely related field with a master’s degree preferred as well as five years of increasingly responsible experience in an organized Fire-EMS department, including three of administrative and supervisory responsibilities.
Experience in a similar-sized or larger department is preferred, as are certification as an Executive Fire Officer and designation as a Chief Fire Officer.
Additionally, candidates should have completed the requirements for Firefighter I and II, DFPES Fire Officer I and II, and EMT-B through the Wyoming State Fire Marshal Department of Fire Prevention Electrical Safety and the Wyoming Firefighters Certification Committee. Completion of DFPES Fire Service Instructor I and II are a plus.

The City of Casper is offering a starting salary of $105,565 to $149,191 for this position, depending on qualifications and experience.
