Dr. Beth L. Murphy, PsyD, Firefighter, EMT (Ret.) is a Clinical Psychologist licensed in Washington State, and retired firefighter/EMT. She provides therapy and evaluations for firefighters, police, military veterans and other individuals who struggle with a range of difficulties from severe mental health issues to minor adjustment issues, due to expected and unexpected life changes. Her specialty is in trauma and traumatic stress as well as chronic illness, such as cancer and chronic pain.
Dr. Murphy uses her experience and knowledge from being a firefighter to provide services for fire and police personnel and their families and provide psychological assessments for a variety of issues including pre-hire testing, fit for duty, and forensic work for attorneys, police and fire departments.
She is a national speaker on issues of stress, mental health and suicide in first responders, harassment and discrimination, and cultural interactions.
